República Centralista

Muchos estados no quisieron adaptarse a las decisiones que llevaría un gobierno central, lo que dio como consecuencia el origen que muchas provincias se declararan como rebeldes, por ejemplo; Texas, Zacatecas y Yucatán.

Congreso Constituyente

En 1839, se había formulado la iniciativa de abrir un Congreso Constituyente, sin embargo hasta 1840 fue que se llevría a cabo, aquí mismo se tratarían los puntos como la tolerancia de cultors, la libertad de los esclavos y la supresión de privilegios.

Renuncia de Anastacio Bustamante

Tras darse cuenta que no contaba con el apoyo suficiente del ejército, comenzó su proceso de negociar su renuncia y exiliarse a Europa. Después de las bases de Tacubaya en 1841, se le daría fin al centralismo, por su parte el congreso daría a conocer una nueva constitución nombrando un ejecutivo temporal.

Congreso con "Liberales"

Ya que se había formado el congreso llegaron los liberales, los mismos que buscaban una neutralidad entre el centralismo y el federalismo, instauraron un centralismo liberal, dando autonomía a los departamentos en funciones administrativas. Por su parte, Valentín Gómez Farías trató de convertir a México en un estado moderno.

Dictadura de Santa Anna

Una vez que fue nombrado como presidente interino y estando en el poder, se le brindaron una serie de concesiones en materia económica como en minería, aspi como de colonización, a cambio de préstamos; no obstante Santa Anna continúo en el poder generando el descontento en los "hombres de bien".

Las Bases Orgánicas

Dentro de la Junta de Notables, se dio a conocer las "Bases Orgánicas", las cuáles buscaban mantener aquellos fueros y garantías individuales de la Independencia, así como la anulación de la Constitución de 1836.

Herrera como Presidente Interino

José Joaquín de Herrera fungió como presidente interino antes de que Paredes llegara a la Ciudad de México. Enfrentándose a los problemas con Estados Unidos.

Conspiración Monarquica

Mariano Paredes aumió la presidencia en este año, mientras tanto, Lucas Alamán publicaría en su periódico "El Tiempo" la "convocatoria", el cual sería un motivo para que Paredes tomara acción para proponer su monarquía.

Guerra México - Estados Unidos

La anexión de Texas a este país resultó un factor importante porque México no quiso aceptar su independencia. De esta manera, Estados Unidos, envío comisionados, movilizando parte del ejército para que tiempo después James K. Polk adopatara la Doctrina Monroe justificando su anexionismo.

Batalla Molino del Rey

Septiembre 8 de 1847

Winfield Scott creía que existían los recursos de guerra necesarios en los edificios del Molino y Casa Mata, Santa Anna ordenó que la posición de la caballería , provocando así el debilitamiento de los contrincantes, no obstante sería una derrota para el ejército mexicano.

Tratado Guadalupe Hidalgo

2 de febrero de 1848

Estados Unidos y México, firmaron un tratado de paz, donde se estabeció que México cedería más de la mitad de su territorio, así como la renuncia de todo mal entendid sobre Texas, estableciendo la frontera internacional con el río Bravo.

Levantamiento del padre Jarauta

Este levantamiento fue un movimiento en consecuencia de estar en contra de la firma del Tratado de Guadalupe Hidalgo, así Celedonio Jarauta tuvo el poyo de Mariano Paredes Arrillaga, sin embargo Anastacio Bustamante frenó dicho movimiento.

Tehuantepec

Comienza una ofensiva por parte de Estados Unidos para que México firme un convenio sobre el paso en Tehuantepec.

Cámara de Representes

El presidente Polk manda un mensaje a la Cámara de Representantes de Estados Unidos sobre el cobro de derechos de importación en los puertos mexicanos durante la guerra.
