-Laboratoire Instrumentation MIT Stark -Conception matérielle dirigée par Eldon C. Hall. -Premiers travaux d'architecture réalisés par: JH Laning Jr., Albert Hopkins, Ramon Alonso et Hugh Blair-Smith. -Le matériel de vol a été fabriqué par Raytheon.

-Chaque vol à destination de la Lune avait deux AGC. -L'un dans le module de commande et l'autre dans le module lunaire. - Deux autres ordinateurs: calculateur de vol et un ordinateur secondaire. -Conflits avec l'URSS.

-L'ordinateur Apollo à été le premier à utiliser des circuits intégrés -Un seul type de circuit. - c'est un ordinateur effectuant des traitements en temps réel. Il est multitâche. -Mémoire morte/Mémoire vive.

Leur travail a permis à Neil Armstrong et Buzz Aldrin de réaliser l'exploit historique d'être les premiers humains à marcher sur la Lune.
