Hong kong is a city and a special administrative region in China. With 7.4 million residents of various nationalities, is one of the most densely populated territories in the world. The area of Hong Kong has expanded over the years, and it has continued to grow as more land has been reclaimed from the surrounding sea. Hong Kong Island and its adjacent islets have an area of only about 31 square miles, while urban Kowloon, which includes the Kowloon Peninsula south of Boundary Street, and Stonecutters Island measure about 18 square miles. The New Territories represent the rest of the area, more than 90 percent of the total.
TOURISM IN HONG KONG
Hong Kong is one of the major tourist destinations in the world because of its gastronomic affair, vibrant nightlife, beautiful temples, and natural beauty. Also, Hong Kong is known for being a paradise for people that love shooping. This city also has incredible places like; disneyland, Hong Kong skyline, Nan Lian Garden and Victoria peak , but the most amazing place is the Buddha Tian Tan.
BUDDHA TIAN TAN
Completed in December 1993, the Buddha Tian Tan is one of the largest statues in the world. The enormous sculpture is made of 202 bronze pieces and sits on a three floors platform. An extension of the Po Lin Monastery, the Buddha Tian Tan symbolises the union of man and nature. The Buddha is sat atop a lotus flower and surrounded by six smaller statues of gods offering flowers, incense, light, ointment, fruit and music as symbols of the gifts necessary for enlightenment. To reach the statue, visitors have to climb 268 steps up to the top, where they'll be rewarded with magnificent views. It's also possible to visit the exhibition within the building for a small fee.
