• Consiste em pensar que uma coisa é a causa de outra, quando realmente não é.
• As consequências são a grande causa de haver falsas relações causais.

• Antes de as mulheres terem o direito de votar não havia armas nucleares.

Por isso, pode-se dizer que a existência de armas nucleares se deve ao voto feminino.

• Sempre que o António faz teste de Filosofia, come uma goma cor de laranja e tem boa nota.

Ele está convencido que é devido à goma cor de laranja que tem boa nota.

Nestes casos, o facto de os dois acontecimentos serem consecutivos é acidental,ou seja, são meras coincidências, já que estes não têm realmente nenhuma relação entre si.

Identifica a falácia da falsa relação causal:

a) As pessoas religiosas não demonstraram ainda que Deus existe. Logo, Deus não existe. b) A Ana estava distraída no cinema a ver um filme da Marvel, enquanto comia pipocas e um gelado. Tinha colocado as pipocas no seu lado direito e o gelado no esquerdo. De repente, ela constatou que as pipocas tinham ficado frias e julgou que isso tinha acontecido porque o gelado tinha derretido. c) O Virgolino é elogiado por muito mais pessoas do que os outros candidatos. Por isso, é o candidato em que devemos votar... O facto de a maioria praticar uma certa ação, nós também devemos praticá-la?
