The Muscular system
Dallas,Emerson,Maddie
SUMMARY
The muscular system is composed of specialized cells called muscle fibers. Their predominant function is contractibility. Muscles, attached to bones or internal organs and blood vessels, are responsible for movement. Nearly all movement in the body is the result of muscle contraction.
Basic Overview
'MUSCLE HAS MEMORY. WHATEVER YOU LOSE, YOU CAN GAIN BACK AGAIN, AS LONG AS YOU ARE WILLING TO GO BACK AT IT AGAIN
Smooth Muscle Tissue
Cardiac Muscles
Cardiac muscle, like skeletal muscle, is made up of sarcomeres that allow for contractility. However, unlike skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle is under involuntary control. The cardiac muscle is responsible for the contractility of the heart and, therefore, the pumping action.

Voulantary
Involuntary muscles are the muscles that contract or move without conscious control. The autonomic nervous system controls involuntary muscle movement. These muscles are generally associated with the viscera or internal organs that exhibit regular, slow contractions and involuntary actions.
muscle whose action is normally controlled by an individual's will; mainly skeletal muscle, composed of parallel bundles of striated, multinucleate fibers.
Fun Facts
Muscles make up the walls of many organs
There are over 600 Skeletal Muscles
Muscles have to pull on bones to move the body
Muscles are 40% of the body weight
Anatomy and Physiology
Physiology The cardiac muscle is responsible for the contractility of the heart and the pumping action. The cardiac muscle must contract with enough force and enough blood to supply the metabolic demands of the entire body. Skeletal muscles enable humans to move and perform daily activities. They also help maintain posture and balance. Smooth muscles control the involuntary movement of most organs present in the body. They aid in digestion, nutrient acquisition, and production of response to external stimuli.
Anatomy The muscular system doesn’t have any main parts, but it does have 3 main types. The 3 types of muscles are cardiac, skeletal, and smooth.
