A bench fee will also be charged.

Getting registered

So you have a research topic, obtained funding and established a connection with your promotor at UGent.

If one of the things mentioned above is missing, please retrace your steps and go to the pre-registration phase.

If not, give us a few moments of your time to tell you about the next steps on your journey.

Following steps

Step 1: Ask your promotor to register you as a prospect PhD candidate in our student administration tool (OASIS).Step 2: You will receive instructions via email to complete your registration in OASIS. Step 3: The faculty will decide on your acceptance. Step 4: When admitted you will receive instructions from OASIS. In the meanwhile check out our (pre-)enrolment presentation.

You have a student status at a non-flemish academic institution and are currently in the process of conducting a doctoral project. You wish to come to Ghent University for matters related to your research (e.g. a short stay to use lab facilities, work with a specific professor, or follow a course, or a longer stay spanning one or two semesters).

So you have a established a connection with a promotor at Ghent University. If not, please retrace your steps in the step by step plan. Please start the registration process in OASIS (our student administration platform) and await further instruction that will be sent to you via email.

If you do not have a promotor at Ghent University, please retrace your steps and go to the pre-registration phase.

How to take the next step?

Please note that you will receive the necessary information on the next steps in your journey to Ghent University after completion of the pre-registration and registrations phases in our roadmap.
