What are verbs, Teacher?

Action verbs are like the stars of a sentence because they tell us exactly what someone or something is doing. When you read a sentence, think about what's happening—any action or movement. For example, in the sentence "The cat jumps on the table," the word "jumps" is the action verb because it tells us about the cat's lively movement. So, when you spot a word that shows an action, you've found an action verb!
