Part 2- Written Reflection
For your written component you will need to write a 6-8 sentence minimum paragraph explaining how your chosen creative component describes, depicts, or represents the important event in your life.
- If you choose to record a vlog where you tell your story audibly, a transcript will be accepted as your written component.
- You can write more if you want, but 6-8 sentences are required.
Part 1-Creative Narrative Project Options
For your creative component, you can use almost any medium to relay your reflective narrative. Some examples include:
- An original Instagram post/reel with caption
- An original YouTube vlog
- An original TikTok with caption
- An original podcast
- An original recorded video game stream
- An original song
- An original poem
- An original piece of artwork
For this assignment, you will create a reflective narrative project that discusses an event, time, or experience that changed your perspective on life.
• A reflective narrative is a story about a real-life experience, so you will want to choose a real event in your life.
• You will want to offer thoughtful judgments about the experience you’re writing about. In other words, you’re not just telling a story here. You are reflecting on this event by detailing how this event affected your life, what it taught you, or what it means to you.
Can’t think of any Ideas? Try These:
• What event changed your life forever?
• Has meeting someone or doing something taught you something about yourself?
• What experience, happy or sad, has made you a stronger or better person?
• Did you help someone in a way that made you feel accomplished or changed in some way?
• What is your greatest achievement?
• What was or is the most difficult yet impactful/transformative thing you have ever experienced?
• What is your greatest childhood memory?
• These are a few examples! Think of anything, dig deep into who or what has made you who you are!
