The Victorian Era
context
The Victorian Era had a particular class system. there were three main groups of people based on their jobs and money. These groups were the Upper Class, Middle Class, and Lower Class (also called the Working Class).
During the Victorian era, a doctrine called "seperate sphere" prevented people to mix. It was true of social classes but also for gender. Men belonged to the public sphere while women belonged to the private sphere.

The Lower Class, or Working Class, were the lowest group. They were workers who didn't have much money, so they lived in a simple way.
