Introduction to the topic
Covering other muslims wrongdoings will lead to our own sins being concealed by allah on the day of judgement. Should we fail to conceal the sins of other, ours will be presented to every person on the day of judgement. This is an important topic to be spoken about in a day and age where gossiping and backbiting is prominent. (All points made are backed by evidence derived from the quran and hadith - most are fund in the slides)
Whoever conceals (the fault of) a Muslim in this world, Allah will conceal him (his faults) in this world and in the Hereafter. Allah will help a person so long as he is helping his brother.”
- narrated by sahih muslim
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Everyone from my nation will be forgiven except those who sin in public. Among them is a man who commits an evil deed in the night that Allah has hidden for him, then in the morning he says: O people, I have committed this sin! His Lord had hidden it during the night, but in the morning he reveals what Allah has hidden.”
narrated by sahih bukhari and sahih muslim

What does it actually mean?
This signifies the importance of not only keepng other peoples sins covered but also our own. It tells us that if we do something bad and feel genuine guilt, we will be forgiven by Allah(Swt), however if we display and show off our sins, it gives of a prideful impression. commiting a sin openly is a different thing:
1.
it shows that the persons heart is deprived of both fear and love of allah
2.
it is unlikely that the person feels any guit as the sins are openly commited for everyone to witness
how does this relate to the real world?
In today's society the sins of backbiting, slandering and gossiping are rife. All of these involve exposing people that are usually 'family' or 'friends.' It has become a normal form of entertainment so much so that it takes place at even the happiest of occasions. But why?If such things are forbidden in our religion then why have they become so prominent...
some reasons to avoid such sins:
- doing them will eventually result to our own downfall on yawm al qiyam
- you will get a matching reward for refraining
- it will avoid our own public humiliation on the day where we will all be resurrected.
