Cycles are non-evaluative! They are student focused! A full coaching cycle last 4-6 weeks. A mini-cycle lasts 1-3 weeks. Both are data driven, but the data can come from anything - tests, observations, assignments, etc. There is always some co-planning involved. Cycles provide opportunities for co-teaching, modeling, &/or observations. Myth: Coaching cycles involve a lot of extra work. False! Coaching cycles allow opportunities for support and co-teaching.
approx. 4-6 weeks
Grade level coaching cycles are an opportunity for your grade level to do some unit planning, flexible grouping, &/or intervention work to gain student improvement. Grade level cycles can be on any skill or content. Grade level cycles can be Full or Mini. During cycles there are opportunities for co-teaching, modeling, and observations.
Are you looking to try or finetune an instructional practice or strategy? We can work on that together. We will spend time planning and co-teaching to make sure that we both learn how to implement the practice. Possible Strategies or instructional practices:

Are you wanting to learn or play around with some technlogy in your classroom? I don't promise to know how to use it, but I promise we will learn together to figure it out! Possible Options:
- Peardeck
- Padlet
- Kahoot - Blooket - GimKit
- Quizizz - Quizlet
- Canva
- All Things Google
- Notability
- IXL
- Reflex - Frax
Data is not about adding more to your plate. Data is about making sure you have the right things on your plate.
-Principal Principles
Data that we can dig into can include, but it is not limited to:
- CFAs
- Observational data
- Daily Assignments / Writing Samples
- NWEA
- Acadience
- IXL
Could your classroom routines or expectations use some tweaking?I come in 3 - 5 times throughout a couple of days to observe and track:
- Ratio of positive and negative interactions
- Opportunities to responddisruptions
- Time on task / student engagement.
Then we meet to look at your data (which is only shared with you) and discuss what is working well and what changes you or your students may benefit from.
Have a grand idea, but not enough time to figure out how to implement? Need to process an idea with someone? Want to find a new way to do something? Want to try out a new resource, but not sure where to start? Saw a cool tweet and want to try it out? Saw a resource in a newletter that has posibilities? Let me know and I'll find the resources, materials, tools, information need to support you in making it happen!
If you have something coming up in your classroom that you would like an extra pair of eyes or hands, I'm your person! Let me know and I will schedule myself to be in your room at that time.
Want or need some new ideas? Curious how others are facilitating a resource or structuring their classroom? Let me know what you would like to observe and learn more about! I will find another teacher in the building or at a neighboring SMSD school for us to visit!
