The inhabitants of the city, if we consider the metropolitan area, are around one and a half million.

It was founded by the Vikings as a center for slave trading, the city is located on the mouth of the River Liffey, in the center of the east coast of the island. It has been the capital of the island since medieval times

THE name

Trinity College was founded in 1952 by Queen Elizabeth I and counted illustrious figures such as Samuel Beckett and Oscar Wilde among its students. The most evocative building of the entire complex is undoubtedly the old library which houses two hundred thousand ancient books, the oldest harp in Ireland and the famous book of kells. The latter is the most richly decorated illuminated manuscript in Ireland . It was performed by the monks of Kells and contains the four gospels in tin.
