What was the Bastille?
The Bastille was a state prison. When it was stormed, the invading Parisans freed the prisoners there. It was an olf fortress that has been used since 1659 as a prison.
When was it invaded?
It was invaded on the morning of 14th of July, 1789
Who was it invaded by?
It was invaded by hundreds of revolutionary Parisian rebels.

Who is he?
Maximilien Robespierre was a democrat, and a key figure in The French Revolution (1780). Robespierre briefly presided over the influential Jacobin Club, which was a political club based in Paris. He also was a president of the National Convention and the Community of Public Safety.

Why did it happen?
It was a pivotal moment in the French revolution. It happened because there were fears that King Louis XVI was about to arrest France's newly constituted National Assembly which led a crowd to successfully invade the Bastille.
The National Constituent Assembly was formed during the first stages of the revolution on the 9th of July 1789 It was dissolved on the 30 September 1791
