Aztecan Geography

Aztecs were located in the Center of what today we know as Mexico they strengthened bt conquesting other civilizations weaker than them and contoled important trade routes and were very important in Mesoamerica

Its capital was Technochtitlan , an important city located in a lake inside the valley of Mexico.The aztecs were also privilegiated of their geograhy because their lands were highly fertilised.

Aztecs spoke nahuatl.This lenguage has its begginings since more than 1400 years ago.

In this map we can see the expansion of the aztecs through all mesoamerica during he years 1427-1520 , As you can see in the period from 1440-1469 is the maximum expansion while the last years it is otherwise.

Also we can see that they were between the two largest oceans (the atlantic in their east and the pacific at their west) this could lead to great trade routes.

The 13 August of 1521 the spanish empire with the help of other indigenous civilizations conquested the Aztec territories.This led to a set of consequences: 1.The creation of the viceroy of New Spain 2.the easification of the conques of other territories. 3.The fall of the indigenous civilizations.
