competitions
- All competitions take place on Friday and students will receive their official time at the next meeting on Monday
- Most students are only competing on 1 event
- If your child is competing in 2 events, that means they are doing a Manual combined with a Role Play or Team Decision Making
- Manual competitors are still working on project boards and actual presentations. Board documents due tonight so I can view them tomorrow. Remember to buy and bring in your 36x48 trifold.
- Role Play and TDM should be watching videos, practicing at home, and sign up for a practice time at school
- A couple of groups are competing in specialty events, so speak to your child and make sure they are following their preparation guidelines
Rooms/Rules
- We are now at the Hilton! This is connected to the Hyatt by sky bridge to access all events
- Students are mostly 4 to a room based on gender, competition team and grade level. We will make sure all room assignments are completed and will release those at the meeting on Monday
- The math didn't work to have complete rooms of 4, so a couple of groups are in a room of 3 based on their competition team
- Students are not allowed to be in a room of the opposite gender for any reason at any time!
- Students are not allowed to leave our floor of the hotel without a buddy for any reason! They must always travel with someone else.
- Curfew is at 11:30--no exceptions!!!
- No food orders, running to a friend's room etc. are not allowed
- Room checks will happen each night at curfew by an adult
