Anne Frank was born on june12,1929,in Frankfurt,Germany. Her mother was Edith Frank,and her father,Otto Frank,was a lieutenant in the German army during World War 1. Ann also had a sister named Margot. The Franks were a typical middle-class German-Jewish family.

When Hitler became chancellor of Germany on January 20,1933,the Frank family realized that it was time to flee. They moved to Amsterdam in the fall 1933. Anne described the circumstances of her family's emigration years later in her diary:"Because we're Jewish,my father immigrated to Holland in 1933,where he became the managing director of the Dutch Opekta Company."

1940-1945

Anne began attending Amsterdam's Sixth Montessori School in 1934, and she lived a happy and normal childhood. She had many friends, Dutch and German, Jewish and Christian, and she was a bright student. But that all changed on September 1, 1939, when Nazi Germany invaded Poland, igniting a global conflict that became World War II. On May 10, 1940, the German army invaded the Netherlands. The Dutch surrendered on May 15, 1940. On June 12, 1942, Anne's parents gave her a red checkered diary for pass the time, Anne wrote extensive daily entries in her diary. In addition, she filled a notebook with quotes from her favourite authors, original stories and the beginnings of a novel about her time in the Secret Annex. On August 4, 1944, a German secret police officer accompanied by four Dutch Nazis stormed into the Secret Annex and arrestedeveryone and sent them to the Auschwitz death camp. After several months of hard labour, Anne and Margot went to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany. They both came down with typhus and died within a day of each other sometime in March 1945, only a few weeks before British soldiers liberated the camp.

Anna iniziò a frequentare la Sixth Montessori School di Amsterdam nel 1934, e visse un'infanzia felice e normale.Aveva molti amici,olandesi e tedeschi,ebrei e cristiani,era una studentessa brillante.Ma tutto cambiò l'1 settembre 1939,quando i nazisti invasero la Polonia accendendo un conflitto globale che è diventata la Seconda Guerra Mondiale.Il 10 maggio 1940 l'esercito tedesco invase i Paesi Bassi.Gli olandesi si arresero il 15 maggio 1940.Il 12 giugno 1942,i genitori di Anna le regalarono un diario a quadretti rossi per passare il tempo,Anna scrisseampie annotazioni quotidiane nel suo diario.Inoltre,ha riempito un taccuino con citazioni dei suoi autori preferiti ,storie originali e l'inizio di un romanzo sul periodo trascorso nell'Alloggio Segreto.Il 4 agosto 1944 ,un officiale della polizio segreta tedesca accompagnato da quattro nazisti olandesi fece irruzione nell'alloggio segreto,arrestò tutti e li deportò nel campo di sterminio di Auschwitz.Dopo diversi mesi di lavori forzati,Anna e Margot andarono nel campo di concentramento di Bergen-Belsen in Germania.Entrambe si ammalarono di tifo e morirono a distanza di un giorno l'una dall'altra nel marzo del 1945,solo poche settimane prima che i soldati britannici liberassero il campo.
