Once upon a time, there was a little girl who always wore a red riding cape. One day, she decided to visit her grandma who lived deep in the woods. She had a nice cake in her basket that her mother had prepared. On her way Little Red Riding Hood met a wolf. He seemed harmless so the girl revealed where she was going. The wolf ran to Granny’s house and ate Granny up. He got into Granny’s bed. A little later, Little Red Riding Hood reached the house. She knocked on the door and was greeted by a strange voice. Little Red Riding Hood thought her grandma looked strange. ‘Granny, what big eyes you have!’ she started.

‘All the better to see you with!’ said the wolf. ‘Granny, what big ears you have!’ ‘All the better to hear you with!’ said the wolf. ‘Granny, what a big nose you have!’ ‘All the better to smell you with!’ said the wolf. ‘Granny, what big teeth you have!’ ‘All the better to eat you with!’ shouted the wolf. A woodcutter was in the wood. He heard a loud scream and ran to the house. The woodcutter hit the wolf over the head. The wolf opened his mouth wide and shouted and Granny jumped out. The wolf ran away and Little Red Riding Hood never saw the wolf again.

the bedding off the bed. She took a pea and laid it on the bare bedframe. Then she took twenty mattresses and placed them on top of the pea. Finally, she put twenty blankets. In the morning, the queen asked her how she had slept. “Oh, very badly! I barely closed my eyes all night,” said the princess. “Goodness knows what it was, but I was lying on something hard,” she added. “I am black and blue all over my body—it was horrible!” she cried. Now they knew that she was a real princess because she had felt the pea right through the twenty mattresses and the twenty blankets. Nobody but a real princess could be as sensitive as that. So the prince married her, for now he knew that he had a real princess; and the pea was put in the museum, where it may still be seen, if no one has stolen it. There, that is a true story.

Once upon a time, there was a prince who wanted to marry a princess but she had to be a real princess. He travelled all over the world to find one, but nowhere could he get what he wanted. There were princesses out there alright, but it was difficult to find out whether they were real ones or not. There was always something about them that was not quite right. So he came home again and was very sad, for he wanted very much to have a real princess. One evening a terrible storm came on; there was thunder and lightning, and the rain poured down in torrents. Suddenly a knocking was heard at the city gate, and the old king went to open it. It was a princess standing out there in front of the gate. But, good gracious! what a sight the rain and the wind had made her look. The water ran down from her hair and clothes; it ran down into the toes of her shoes and out again at the heels. And yet she said that she was a real princess. We’ll soon find out! thought the old queen. She went into the bedroom and stripped all

Once upon a time a girl named Cinderella lived with her stepmother and two stepsisters. Poor Cinderella had to work hard all day long so the others could rest. It was she who had to wake up each morning when it was still dark and cold to start the fire. It was she who cooked the meals. It was she who kept the fire going. The poor girl could not stay clean, from all the ashes and cinders by the fire. One day, her stepmother and stepsisters went to a ball in the palace as the prince wanted to find a wife. Cinderella stayed behind and she felt so sad, she started to cry. Suddenly there was a burst of light and Cinderella's fairy godmother appeared.

With a flick of her wand, she turned Cinderella into a beautiful princess with glass slippers and a horse carriage appeared at the door. The fairy godmother warned Cinderella to return before midnight. Cinderella arrived at the ball and whe the prince looked at her, he fell in love with her. They danced together all night but when midnight arrived, Cinderella rushed out to her carriage leaving one of her slippers behind. The prince went to every house in the town with the slipper until he managed to find the right fit to the shoe : Cinderella! The prince and Cinderella got married and they lived happily ever after.
