• Some people thought Jack the Ripper may have been a regular person living among the community. A local barber named Aaron Kosminski was a suspect. Kosminski was mentally unstable and lived in Whitechapel at the time of the murders. He had a history of violence and was eventually institutionalized for mental illness...

Montague J. Druitt

• He was a lawyer from a good family. He was homosexual (at that time, it was prohibited) (the reason why he was expelled from the boarding school where he taught in 1888). He committed suicide by jumping into the Thames a few weeks after Mary-Jane Kelly's murder. However, there was no evidence against him.

Walter Sickert

• Walter Sickert, a painter, has also been considered a possible suspect. Some theorists suggested that Sickert may have had a fascination with the murders, evident in his artwork. However, concrete evidence linking him to the crimes was lacking.

John Pizer

• This Jewish shoemaker, nicknamed "Leather Apron" because he never took off his apron, even when going out in the street. He was arrested two days after the murder of Annie Chapman, the second victim of the Ripper on the night of September 8. A woman accused him of threatening her with a knife that morning. Although he had previously assaulted prostitutes, he had solid alibis for the nights of both murders.
