His life...
Ivan Zaytsev, pseudonym of his Russian name, was born on October 2, 1988, the same night his father was playing in the Olympic final with the Soviet national team. His parents, in fact, were both professional athletes, his mother, Irina Pozdnjakova, was a soviet professional swimmer and his dad Vjačeslav Zajcev, was the setter of the Soviet national volleyball team. He often moved house to follow his father with his family in his volleyball career and he will also start playing volleyball at seven years old. He was followed by his father who trained him hard to become a setter and take his position in the national team. After a short time, the Zar began to rebel at the father’s severe upbringing. In 2008, after 10 years of uninterrupted residence in Italy, he obtained the citizenship of our country. He has been married to Ashling Sirocchi, who is also his manager, and they have two children, Alessandro, knows as Sasha, and Sienna.
In 2001 he began to play, as a drobbler, in the youth teams of Perugia, and then joined the first team, in Serie A1, in the 2004-05 season. In the 2012-13 season he was engaged by the Lube of Macerata, a club with which he changes role again, moved to the opposite position, and where he remains for two years, with which he wins the Italian Super Cup, also receiving the award for best player and the Scudetto in the 2013-14 season. For the 2014-15 championship he moved to Russia, to Dynamo Moscow, a militant in the Superliga, with whom he won the CEV Cup. After two years in Russia, in April 2016 he landed in Qatar to participate in the Emir Cup with Al-Arabi, winning the tournament and being awarded the best player. He returns to Italy for the 2016-17 championship, this time with the shirt of Sir Safety Perugia, in the Superleague, where he remains for two years. In the 2018-19 season he moved to Modena, always in the top Italian division, winning the Italian Super Cup: after a two-year period with the Emilians, in the 2020-21 year he goes on loan to the Russian club Kuzbass, in the Superliga. Now, however, he plays as an opposite in Lube Civitanova for the third year in a row
His club career
During the 2018 Nations League match between Italy and Serbia, the jewel of the Italian national team Ivan Zaytsev was the protagonist of an amazing joke. The ball reached 134 km/h leaving no way out for the opponents. Unfortunately Ivan has left the national team, the reasons would be to be found in the desire not to have a too cumbersome reserve for Romanò (the other opposite of the national team). Ivan was sometimes labeled as an unprofessional person.
His career with the national team
Ivan also wrote a book called "mia". this book talks about his sporting adventures, his victories and defeats, his family, his wife and their first son calld Sasha. It was published on April 24,2018. For him, volleyball is more demanding than any other sport because it requires physical concentration and training for every part of the body.
