HEAT
AND TEMPERATURE
HEAT is a form of energy. HEAT makes things warm or hot. There are NATURAL RESOURCES of heat (SUN) and ARTIFICIAL SOURCES (MRICORWAVE)
WHAT,S TEMPERATURE?
TEMPERATURE is something we measure. It tell us how hot something is. Things become hotter when they gain heat. Things become colder when LOSE heat.
HOW CAN WE MEASURE TEMPERATURE?
We measure temperature with a THERMOMETER. Some thermometers have got a tube with liquid in it. When the temperature gets hooter, the liquid moves up the tube. Some thermometers are digital. They show the temperature on a small scree.
how can heat change states of matter?
There are three states of matter
SOLID LIQUID GAS
HOW CAN HEAT CHANGE STATES OF MATTER?
An ice cream in the sun changes from SOLID to LIQUID. This called MELTING. Heat can also change liquids into gas is EVAPORATION Heat can also cause CHEMICAL CHANGES are IRREVERSIBLE changes.
WHAT ARE CONDUCTOR AND INSOLATOR?
Material can be calssified as THERMAL CONDUCTORS or THERMAL INSULATOR
Some materials CONDUCT heat . This means that they get hot quickly and easly. These materials are called THERMAL CONDUCTORS (metal). Materials that don't get hot easly are called THERMAL INSULATOR (WOOD, PLASTIC and RUBBER)
