Vodafone's 4G network, like other 4G networks worldwide, is based on LTE (Long-Term Evolution) technology. LTE is a standard for wireless broadband communication that provides higher data transfer speeds compared to previous generations of mobile networks (2G and 3G). This allows for faster internet browsing, smoother streaming of content, and improved overall performance of mobile devices.

- Customer’s phones stay on 4G when they make a call, so any apps in use keep their full 4G functionality. This allows downloading of content, playing videos, or anything else that relies on data streaming.
- The primary advantage of 4G calling is superior call quality. Call connection is quicker, and customers may find they get an even better signal in poor signal areas, as the 4G capability travels further into buildings.
- Customers with this feature enabled will automatically default to 4G Calling when they are in a 4G calling enabled area.
