Plastic was invented in 1907
Where do you think most plastic ends up?
Plastic
Plastic is light and durable. It flies away, ending up in rivers, beaches and in the sea.
Plastic ending up in what is called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, somewhere between Hawaii and California.
The Pacific Trash Vortex
Plastic all at SEA
Earth
How are we destroying our planet ?
Save Life on Earth
Plastic is killing marine wildlife, but it is killing us too...
With time, plastic breaks down in smaller pieces, called microplastics. Turtles, fishes and whales feed on these plastics, confusing them with food.
Plastic pollution contributes to GLOBAL WARMING!
So, how do we stop this problem?
How to Save Life on Earth?
We need to reduce the use of plastic!
Our generation needs to solve this problem!
Let’s take the plastic out of the ocean, and give our planet a new life!
Save US!
Challenges
1. Collect all the plastic you use for one week, weight the plastic, then multiply by 52 weeks, and see how much plastic you will use in one year.
Challenges
2. Try to spend one week without using any plastic and see how difficult it is.
THANKS!
