Main Menu / Home Screen Buttons
These buttons let you make new objects, rename your document, or go back to the Onshape home screen. They’re located in the top-left corner.

Feature Tree
This will show you the planes and allow you to toggle their visibility. This is also where you’ll check to see and edit what you’ve done for your part, and in what order. It’s found on the left-hand side of the screen.
Back
Parts Tree
This will show you the different parts that you’ve made. If you have multiple objects that are touching, they’re considered separate. This tree is found under the Feature Tree, on the lower left-hand side of the screen.

Studio Changer
This is similar to having multiple pages in one spreadsheet document. You can switch between different parts and assemblies in the same document using tabs. They’re located at the bottom of the screen, on the left side. If you have enough different parts, though, they might span the whole page!
Back
Design Workspace/Studio
This is where the magic happens! Your part or assembly is displayed here. All of the changes you make to your part are done in this region. Fittingly, it’s smack in the center of the screen.
Back
Toolbar
This shows you the tools you can use to make changes to your part, like smoothing edges or changing dimensions. The toolbar changes depending on which mode you’re in (sketch, assembly, etc.). The toolbar sits at the top of the screen, right under the bar with the documents name.
Back
View Cube
This can be used to navigate around your displayed part, to get different views of it. You can also right-click and drag, but many users find the View Cube to be a bit easier. It’s found in the upper-right corner of the main workspace.
Back
Material Configuration
This is where you can change your part’s color or appearance. If you’re into materials, then you can also add custom tables to your document with material info. It’s on the far-right side of the screen, in the center.
Back
Measurement/Mass Buttons
These allow you to measure different data points in your part, depending on what you’ve selected. It’s located in the very bottom-right corner of the screen.
