Piazza dei Miracoli
La Piazza dei Miracoli è famosa soprattutto per la presenza della Torre di Pisa, ma tutto il complesso presenta anche il Battistero, il Duomo e il Camposanto. I bianchi monumenti sono circondati da un vasto prato verde, che nel 1910 Gabriele D'Annunzio definì "Prato dei Miracoli" e da cui la piazza prende il nome.

The Piazza dei Miracoli is famous for the presence of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but as a whole, it also includes the Baptistery, the Cathedral, and the Cemetery. The white monuments are surrounded by a vast green area, which Gabriele D'Annunzio called the 'Field of Miracles' in 1910, and that is where the square takes its name.

Corso Italia connects the train station to the old town, ending with Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, and is jam-packed with everything from souvenir shops to designer boutiques. In this area you can find Palazzo Vincenti (a medieval building), the statue of Nicola Pisano (an Italian sculptur), the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II (former king of Italy) and 'Tuttomondo' mural by Keith Haring.

The pizzeria, small but cozy, is located in an alley in the centre. The pizza is good, with options for both vegetarian and vegan dishes, the staff is very friendly, and the prices are truly affordable.

La Cattedrale di Pisa, ideata da Busketo e realizzata a partire dal 1063, fu dedicata all’Assunta ed è in stile romanico pisano. Per contenere i sarcofagi di epoca romana che circondavano la Cattedrale, venne costruito nel 1276 il Campo Santo monumentale. Nella stessa area troviamo il Museo delle Sinopie del Campo Santo (le sinopie sono i disegni preparatori degli affreschi) e il Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, una galleria di opere d’arte legate alla piazza.

The Cathedral of Pisa, conceived by Busketo and built starting from 1063, was dedicated to the Assumption and it is in Pisan Romanesque style. The monumental Campo Santo was built in 1276 to contain the Roman-era sarcophagi that surrounded the Cathedral. In the same area, we find the Sinopie del Campo Santo Museum (the sinopias are the preparatory drawings of the frescoes) and The Opera del Duomo Museum, a gallery of works of art linked to the square.
