Emotions vs feelings
We experience emotions first. They are our spontaneus reaction to the environment and we experience them through our senses. Feelings are built in a mental way, reinterpreting our emotions. It is a mental process, it is almost always quite unconscious. Their effect is more permanent than emotions, as they create the way in which we understand the world around us and our moods. That's why it is important to stop and consider and recognize our emotions, in order to analyze and understand the way we feel.
ACTIVITY
- Discuss with your partner the meaning of the emojis in this poster and translate them if necessary
- Use Jamboard to classify them according to the different emotions. You can use a jamboard I have uploaded in Google Classroom. Add more words.
- Practise with your partner miming some emotions and trying to name them.
- Finally, write a very short story in which the protagonist (or you) goes through three different emotions along a morning. Use the new vocabulary.
