Sub-topic: How to find a job Level: 17
"Great, so that's it? I send them my CV and wait for an answer?"
"Well, that and the cover letter, yes. You know about the cover letter, don't you Mark? The one you send in addition to your CV."
"Um…"
"Part of the job application is also the creation of a letter of intent or a cover letter. That is usually the first thing they look at. So, you need to start with a polite greeting addressing the hiring manager by name. You should indicate the position you are interested in at the company. Highlight your enthusiasm and motivation as a recent high school graduate. Emphasise a particular skill or quality that aligns with the role offered. Mention a relevant experience or project that showcases your work ethic and passion. Talk about your eagerness to learn and contribute to the organisation. Conclude by thanking the recipient for considering your application and sign off with your name. Remember, while keeping it concise, make sure to personalise the letter to the job and company you're applying to."
"Wow, there’s a lot to think about when applying for a job. "(Mark laughs)
