Come è iniziata la transumanza

La transumanza è iniziata quando si è istaurato un rapporto tra uomo e animale, vuol dire spostarsi da un posto all'altro.

Di cosa stiamo parlando...

La TRANSUMANZA mi sa tanto di erba fresca e verde, calpestata da greggi, mandrie e pastori. Grossi campanacci al collo dei bovini e il loro concerto lungo i sentieri del tratturo.

Uno dei primi tratturi riconosciuti per la transumanza fù quello che attraversa il Molise, partendo dall'Abbruzzo con destinazione Puglia.

I loro percorsi...

I percorsi dei tratturi si snodano per centinaia di km e toccano circa 80 comuni molisani. Lungo i tratturi i pastori compivano una serie di attività commerciali- vendevano pelli, lana, latte e i suoi derivati.

Il lavoro

I contadini e i braccianti agricoli avevano studiato con grande astuzia i sentieri dei tratturi, per avere a disposizione tutto ciò che la natura potesse offrire. - Vicinanza ai ruscelli per abbeverare gli animali; -Ripararsi dalle pioggie; -Posto giusto per la mungiatura; Dal regio tratturo, cioè dal tratturo principale, si snodano tratturelli e percorsi minori che venivano usati come collegamento.

I TRATTURI DEL MOLISE

I più antichi ed importanti: Celano-Foggia di circa 200 km.; Castel di Sangro-Lucera di circa 130 km.; Pescasseroli-Candela di circa 210 km.; Tratturo del Re (L’Aquila-Foggia) lungo circa 240 km. largo circa 110 m; Centurelle-Montesecco di circa 100 km. Tratturelli e Bracci: Castel del Giudice-Sprondasino-Pescolanciano, di circa 40 km.; Braccio Centocelle-Cortile, che dalla vecchia stazione ferroviaria di Ripabottoni collega il Celano-Foggia al Castel di Sangro-Lucera..

L'UNESCO

L'11 dicembre 2019 il comitato del Patrimonio Mondiale dell'Unesco si è espresso sulla transumanza. Ha proclamato Patrimonio immateriale dell'umanità, questa antica pratica. Inoltre, afferma che la transumanza è rispettosa del benessere animale e dei ritmi delle stagioni.

LA FAMIGLIA COLANTUONO

La famiglia Colantuono, oggi in Molise rappresenta la transumanza. Questa famiglia sposta ogni anno circa 360 capi di bovini che guidano sul percorso storico, Frosolone (CB)- San Marco in Lamis (FG). La mandria è composta da mucche di razza podolica e marchigiana. Le mucche dalla razza podolica sono note per la loro capacità di adattarsi a condizioni climatiche e ambientali, piuttosto avverse.

Le razze bovine

Questi bovini sono caratterizzati da un mantello tendenzialmente di colore grigio. I maschi hanno delle corna a mezza luna, mentre le femmine a forma di lira. E' una razza che in condizioni climatiche rigide produce meno latte, usato per la produzione del famoso caciocavallo molisano.
