Get ready for networking!

Watch the video below on Networking Tips: Networking isn't just about meeting new people. Knowing how to network can strengthen your business connections and might even lead to a job referral. In fact, some argue getting a job is more about who you know than what you know. In other words, those referrals can really pay off. In this video, we'll show you how to navigate a networking event like a pro with some key tips!

Research and check when the next job fairs are scheduled in your region, get ready and look forward to attending. If they are not coming up soon, it is a good chance to use the time and see what happened at previous editions and list here the names of employers present from your sector of professional interest.

Task 2

Weekly routine

Time allocated, resources used for listening, reading, writing, speaking

Before getting into the proper study, set a goal for your target language. Why do you want to learn the language? What level do you want to reach B1, B2? However, consistency is the secret to acquire language skills, so it is important to have a routine that you implement in your daily life. Whether you spend 15 - 1 h of studying each day it is important to be intense and to keep using the same resources and materials. That's why it's good to make a selection of resources first.

your routine of target language learning

Open a lesson of the online course you are taking and focus on the content. Write down the new words.

Watch more video content. Youtube is a key resource. Make a playlist of videos in your target language and start watching one each day. It is really useful for improving your listening and pronunciation skills (check the Shadowing method).

While studying your target language, it's most important to keep your mind fresh, so you always stay hydrated.

The study session may include a cup of coffee. But we recommend drinking in moderation, as caffeine can have an adverse impact on the digestive, circulatory, and respiratory systems of the body.

A highly recommended book to read to shape your learning routine is Atomic Habits by James Clear.

Solution

The activity helps members of a group get to know each other. All participants write on the paper cards what is the best and worst thing specifically for themselves: For example, "What is the best book you have read?" and "Worst injury you have ever had?". Then all the cards will go into a hat and a random card will be picked, and the person to whom the answer belongs is invited to share the related stories.

is a physical game that teaches your team time management, communication, and strategy skills. A team of at least four people stands in line and places a round object such as a balloon or a ball between every two people standing next to each other. The goal is to move together forward without using hands to hold balloons in place.

Task 1

Back to menu

As a team we can build a story on a given theme. The first member who started writing will hide the paragraph, leaving the last sentence visible, and the next person will continue. Team members are encouraged to be creative, but funny at the same time.

Players are stuck on a desert island. They have to agree on 3 objects they should take with them and explain why. This activity gives the group a personalised perspective for each member based on the suggestions for the objects chosen.

Describe one of your experiences related to a team activity in which you took part as a team leader or teammate (don't forget to mention the context in which it took place, what the activity involved, how the team dynamic shaped up).
