What is manorialism?

Manorialism was the system where rural society was arranged around a manor house or castle on an estate.

Feudalism

It's focused on the organasation of agricoltural production. It's only an economic system.

It describes Vassal's legal obligation to nobles. It's a political and social system.

Decrease of population

Revolutions

Sudden decrease of popultaion caused by wars and plagues. Crop failures, caused by a shortage of work in the estates, growth of cities and towns.

The serfs in the estates joined in communities, and started to organize revolts. 1381, Peasants' Revolt.

Use of coinage

Many serfs paied they lords instead of doing certain labours, or to buy their freedom.
