Stakeholders
Car Park Permeable Pavement
- Promotes better water management and reduces risk of flooding
- Sustainable as water can be reused
- Durable and can withstand outdoor elements
- Offers design flexibility allowing you to customise it to fit your specific needs.
- Can act as a natural insulator helping regulate the temperature.
- Helps with stormwater management by absorbing rainwater, reducing the strain on the sudS
- Durable and resistant to corrosion
Materials
- Steep ditch next to the building
- Nearby Bus stop
- Pedestrian Pavement (west of site)
- Trees
- Underground Cables and pipes
Site Constrains
The SUDs chosen was the car park’s Permeable Pavement. The porous material (concrete) will have gaps in between so when rain seeps through the gap it is stored in the stone reservoir underneath. Then, the water can slowly infiltrate into the ground or collected for reuse. This way, the water will not pool on the surface.
