PLOT

This act takes place in Venice. Here Othello,a general of Venetian Army, has secretly married the daughter of a noble man, Desdemona. Iago is making a plot to have Cassio dismissed, while is pretending loyal to Othello

This act takes place in Cyprus. Iago wants to separate Desdemona and Othello

Iago plans to make Othell think Cassio and Desdemona are having an affair.And then Iago drops the Desdemona's handkerchief in Cassio's room

Act IV

Othello plans Desdemona's death

Othello strangles Desdemona in her bed. However, he realizes he has been tricked, so he kills himself and Iago is arrested. Finally Cassio becomes the Governor of Cyprus

-The use of color is significant in tragedy. The term "green-eyed monster" used by Iago to refer to Desdemona is associated with the concept of jealousy. This image of the "green eyes" has become a common expression in the English language.

Desdemona, becomes a victim of domestic violence and is ultimately murdered by her husband, Othello.

Race is an extremely important theme, as it leads to Othello's insecurity, which Iago is able to manipulate. Othello is not accepted by society, even if he's a general, because of the different skin colour. In reality: Racism persists in various forms globally, impacting individuals and communities, and remains a significant social issue.
