In three steps

Stage 1:

Prepare students for the outdoor learning experience

90 minutes (2 sessions)

Consumable materials, tablets and Digital Interactive Board

Understand the concept of 'ecosystem', identify the elements that can be found in an ecosystem and integrate the vocabulary related to the unit

Word cloud, presentation of the elements of ecosystems and explanation of the field diary

Stage 2:

Outdoor learning experience

Consumable materials and field diary

One day

Countryside and city that surround the school (Field trip)

Identify the main elements found in urban and rural ecosystems, and integrate the vocabulary related to the concept of 'ecosystem'

Group work

Participation in a field trip to the countryside and the city. Thus, together with their cooperative groups, students will be filling in their field diaries

Highlight the differences and similarities between rural and urban ecosystems and use the present simple structure to create sentences about the given topic
