ashitaka is a born leader, skilled in fighting and is always accompanied by his pet yahhuru half ibex half yak. ashitaka represents youth and purity.

she is known as princes mononoke. san is the main character. is very, strong, courageous and protective. san was grown up by wolves and therefore behaves and resembles them. as the mother hate humans, she thinks killing eboshi will make the humans run away. then She falls in love with ashitaka. she wants to defend the forest and the animals she lives.

Forest spirit
the forest spirit is the god of the life and the death. he helped ashitaka when he was hit by a bullet. When lady eboshi kill him everything he toched died, but when san and ashitaka manage to take his head and give it back to him, the forest spirit reborns everything he had killed and goes away dying.

lady eboshi is arrogant but also kind. sheis the leader of irontown and the people love her. she want to go to the mountains to get iron but she DOESN'T REALIZE THAT IN THIS WAY sHE DESTROYS THE FOREST.

Moro is the secondary charter of the film. she grown up san as her daughter after she attacked her parents for damaging the forest. moro and okkoto are killed by the god of the forest. whwn lady eboshi kills the spirit oh forest moro commes back tolife and bites thearm of lady eboshi then she fights with spirit body of forest and dies

Nago
Nago is the boar god who was injured by lady Eboshi to defend the forest and becomes a demon, he attacked the village of Ashitaka. It is described as a boar covered in black snakes.

Plot
Ashitaka lives in his village and one day attacked by the demon Nago. Once Nago was the boar god but during a fight he was injured and transformed into a demon. During the fight Nago dies but causes Ashitaka a plague that will slowly kill him but gives him strength in moments of anger. Therefore Asiktaka abandons his land to heal himself, but before leaving, the iron ball that causes his transformation into a demon is found in the animal's body. After days of traveling in a village he meets the monk Jingo who advises him to go west to be cured by the forest god. Along the journey Ashitaka helps two wounded men and while passing through a forest he looks Princess Mononoke, a wolf-girl who was raised by the wolf goddess Moro who protects the sacred forest.
Ashitaka arrives at the city of iron and meets Lady Eboshi, owner of the city who tells him that she injuredNago because the animal gods prevented men from extracting iron in the forest. During the night Mononoke attacks Eboshi and Ashitaka stops the fight between the two. Ashitaka takes Princess Mononoke to safety, but is shot and falls unconscious as soon as he leaves the city. Mononoke helps him and takes him to the forest god who will heal him from the wound and not the plague. The Okkoto boar clan arrives in the forest and wants to kill the humans who are mining the iron. However, the goddess Moro, wounded by the humans, tries to convince Okkoto not to attack since it would be a massacre.
Okkoto, tired from the attacks he has suffered, summons an army of boars to attack the humans. Moro is dying and Ashitaka is going to warn Lady Eboshi of the samurai attack on Irontown but she continues to fight. ashitaka at one point heard a call from san who was inside an evil spirit with okkoto. so they all found themselves at the deer god; and Moro with his last moments of life tore San from the demon and Lady Eboshi killed the forest spirit, in panic it sought his head spreading a liquid that killed anything. san and ashitaka meanwhile chased Jingo who had taken the head, when the two boys managed to take the head and gave it back to him he committed suicide giving life to a new forest and after a while a kodama began to appear.
