Poverty in Mexico is measured using a multi-dimentional approach using six different lacks: learning lag and lack of access to health services, social security, decent food, good-quality housing, and basic services.

As of 2020, 8.5% of Mexicans live in extreme poverty and 35.4% live in moderate poverty for a total of 43.9% of Mexicans living in poverty

How are poverty and lack of education related?

What is poverty? Poverty is a condition in which people do not have enough resources to meet their basic needs. These basic needs include food, shelter, health, education, and access to basic services.

What is lack of education? Lack of education is the situation in which a person has not completed compulsory education. In Mexico, compulsory education includes preschool, primary education, and secondary education.

Data According to the National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy( Coneval), in 2022,25.8 of the Mexican population was in poverty. Of that aggregate,19.4 was in extreme poverty. Coneval also points out that31.9 of the Mexican population had educational pause. This means that they hadn't completed secondary education.
