Definition
What is segregation ?
segregation means separating people because of differences such as skin color.

Black people can't do:
- Restriction on places such as cinema or clubs
- Prohibitions on mariage between different races.
- Separation in cemeteries with seperate sections for people of color
- separate access to public etablishement such as school, restaurant and public transport
segregation and desegregation in school
In 1896 the Supreme Court approved separate but equal schools (Plessy V. Ferguson). In the 1950s, Linda brown's father challenged the refusal of access to school because oh his daughter's skin color. On May 17 1954 the Court found segregation unconstitutional marking a step forward the civil right of Afro-Americains.
