MATERIAL FROM THE AREA OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

GAMES 23/24

CONVENTIONAL CHARACTER

CONVENTIONAL MATERIAL

  • Depending on its size:
o Small material: very manipulable by the student, such as: hoops, ropes, balls, spades, etc. They will allow us to work on the basic motor skills of throwing and receiving, specific dynamic coordination...o Medium material: mats, Swedish benches, plinths, racks, etc. They allow us to work on basic motor skills, movements, jumps, turns, general dynamic coordination, balance... o Great material: guardrails (quitamiedos), goals, volleyball posts, trellises (espalderas), basketball baskets, etc. They are usually used in the third cycle in adapted sports or in complex games of cooperation and opposition.

CONVENTIONAL CHARACTER

CONVENTIONAL MATERIAL

  • According to its mobility:
o Fixed: material whose location is permanent and stable over a certain time (several sessions, a month, a course, etc.). For example: backrests, basketball baskets, goals, etc. It must be well to avoid risky situations and accidents.o Mobile: material that can easily change location throughout the session, for example, hoops, fences, etc. o Mixed: it can be moved between several people and its location is permanent throughout a session, such as volleyball or badminton posts, etc.

CONVENTIONAL CHARACTER

NON - CONVENTIONAL MATERIAL

  • Depending on the use:
o Individual: used by a single student, for example, their clothing, skipping ropes, pompoms, etc. In relation to health, the student must assume a series of rules in relation to their clothing, rules that will be imposed in the first years and that in the last years they must understand and value.o Collective: used by groups of students, whether pairs, trios, etc. They must learn to share the material.

CONVENTIONAL CHARACTER

NON - CONVENTIONAL MATERIAL

  • Waste:
These are materials that are rescued from “garbage” and then recycled. They need to be treated so that they can be used in PE classes. (cleaned, painted, etc.). It is advisable that the students themselves be in charge of constructing this type of material.

CONVENTIONAL CHARACTER

NON - CONVENTIONAL MATERIAL

  • Natural:
They are those that nature has. They are usually used when we work on the content “activities in the natural environment”. For example we can mention: leaves, stones, pine cones, branches, etc. Children are very motivated by building fortune shelters.
  • Commercial
These are materials that can be purchased in any store such as a drugstore, haberdashery, hardware store, etc. For example: elastic bands of different widths, toilet paper rolls and fabrics to work on symbolic games; plastics, ropes, insulating tape of different colors; Marking tape to delimit nets and practice net games, for example, indiaca, pick-up ball...

According to the sense used in the perception phase of the tasks

  • Material for the sense of balance: rhythm bars, Swedish benches, bicycle, skates, stilts, pedalos, self-built lifts, etc. Balance activities on objects should be proposed for the third cycle.
  • Material to stimulate the visual sense: video, handkerchiefs, balls of different colors, mirrors, flashlights, targets, etc. We can propose activities to work on spatial perception, for example blind trains, the guide. We can also propose activities to educate about handicap in the case of having a child with visual handicap, where the children would act blindfolded with a stick in this way they would become aware of their partner's problems.
  • Material based on sound stimuli: tambourines, maracas, triangles, music equipment to work with dances, etc. - Material to stimulate the sense of touch: sandbags, balls of different textures, balls with different weights, etc. for psychomotor work in the first cycle.

depending on the content to be developed

  • Psychomotor material: giant puzzles, plastic bricks, interlocking balls, rings, corridors, plantars, foan balls, etc.
  • Body expression material. Costume trunk, makeup kit, masks, etc.
