Los objetos tienen volumen, es decir, tres dimensiones: alto, ancho y largo. Sin embargo, las imágenes tienen solo dos dimensiones, así que son planas.
Por eso, algunos artistas juegan con diferentes recursos visuales para crear la ilusión de volumen en las imágenes.
Los artistas usan líneas diagonales para representar el volumen de las imágenes planas y así darles sensación de profundidad.
