Men: High-collared, thin suits. Tuxedo gained popularity for informal occasions. Top hats and bowler were standard accessories. Women: S-shaped figures with narrow waist and wide hat. Day dresses had high necklines and evening gowns had loose necklines.
Men: Tree coat, waistcoat and trousers were usually worn on formal occasions. They wore morning coats in the afternoon and black wooden coats in the evening.Hats were very relevant because they were an indispensable part of men's formal clothing. The hats was made about skin of Hare and Rabbit. The shoes usually was made about leather, silk and linen. Women: Dresses with corsets, usually made of heavy fabric. Day dresses had high necklines, while evening dresses had low necklines. In 1851, women begin to wear trousers. It wasn´t prohibited, only no woman used them.
