Spain is hereby established as a social and democratic State, subject to the rule of law, which advocates as the highest values of its legal order, liberty, justice, equality and political pluralism

The Monarchy in its different conceptions and modes, has been the prevalent form of government or the institution holding the utmost political power in Spain and its adjacent territories throughout history. Hence the political and institutional history of Spain, like that of other European countries, is, in part, the history of its Monarchy and its kings and queens.

Since Spain is a parlamentary monarchy so we have a king and a queen as a head of state. And also for being king or queen in Spain you basically have to born being the son of the king , like leonor also you have to study bacause you have a country to run.

The king is the Head of State, and all his actions must be endorsed by the Government, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution in its Title II dedicated to the Crown.

  • The cortes generales has the legislative power since they put the laws.
  • The goverment has the ejecutive power since las cores are the ones who control the actions of them .

The exercise of the legislative power of the State falls to the Cortes Generales, representing the Spanish people and controlling the actions of the Government.

Once the confidence of the House has been conferred and once appointed by the King, proposes the appointment of ministers to the King.

HOW TO VOTE IN SPAIN

Eligibility: You must be a Spanish citizen or a citizen of a European Union (EU) member state residing in Spain. You must be at least 18 years old on the day of the election. Voter Registration: Ensure that you are registered on the electoral roll (padrón) in your municipality. Registration is usually done at the town hall (ayuntamiento )

Voting Process: Go to your assigned polling station on election day. Queue in the designated line for your precinct. Present your ID to the election officials. Receive the ballot paper for the election. Cast your vote in the privacy of the voting booth. Fold the ballot paper and deposit it in the ballot box.

Spanish people started voting Firstly there was Franco who has a dictatorship, so you could not vote because you didnt have that much freedoom for doing that. Secondly , Adolfo suarez wanted to had a democracia with the help of king Juan Carlos. Then there were the first democratic elections since people has the right for giving their own opinions later the national referendum aproved the constitution and started using it. And now we vote and have the right of chossing.
