KC Smartway 2 Interactive Guide

Reserving a room made easy
Smartway2 is the tool we use to reserve study and conference rooms at Kettering College. It includes both a web and mobile app, so you can make reservations from anywhere, and uses Single-sign On (SSO) -- so you don’t need to remember any extra login information! Click the buttons below to learn how to use Smartway2.

To make sure that rooms and desks are used efficiently, Smartway2 usually requires a host to check-in when they arrive at the location. Click the buttons below to view the steps.

1. To create a new reservation you would select the desired date from the calendar, then tap the Plus icon in the Menu.
How to Make a Reservation

You can click the link in the email notification sent to inform you that the check-in period has started. This opens the reservation in the web app.
You can use a Meeting Room/Desk Display Panel if one is present at the location, and either tap the Check-In button or scan the QR code on the screen.
If you follow all the steps in this guide but aren't able to make, edit, delete, or check-into a room reservation, contact the Helpdesk for assistance.

Click the reservation in the Schedule pane in the web app (it will be coloured orange when the check-in time has started) and then click the link in the details pane on the right of the screen.
The reservation returns to green in the Schedule when you have checked-in. You can use the Smartway2 mobile app: tap Check-in on the app's main screen or tap the reservation in the calendar, and then tap the Press here to check-in link (similar to the web app).
- Tap the Plus button in the navigation menu. This will load a list of study rooms, which you can filter, sort, and view on a map of the building.
- Tap Load more results to view more rooms, or Unavailable to view rooms that have already been booked.
- Find and tap an available study room.
- Enter the date/time information, then tap Confirm Reservation.

View the Home Screen

This is the application's main screen, also known as the Agenda. All of your upcoming reservations will appear here. You can navigate around the app using the toolbar at the bottom. Hover over each button below to learn about its function:

The Agenda View is the first screen you see when the app is launched. At the top of the page is your weekly calendar which incorporates a week view, month switcher, status switcher, avatar, selected date and drag bar. The Agenda view displays a day by day view of reservations, how to attend them and what to do in between reservations if you have free time (only if you have enabled Show fill time on the Agenda from Settings> Free time). The content you will see in this view depends on any existing reservations you have.

- Tap the 3-dot menu to the right of the reservation you would like to make changes to.
- Tap Edit
- Change the details on the Edit Reservation screen
- Tap Save
