Op art
Op art, short for optical art, is a style of visual art that uses optical illusions. Op artworks are abstract, with many better-known pieces created in black and white. Typically, they give the viewer the impression of movement, hidden images, flashing and vibrating patterns, or swelling or warping.

Bridget Riley (born 24 April 1931)
Bridget Riley was one of the first artists to explore optical illusions as a style of art. She was born in London, England on april 24. As she grew up she went to college to study art and eventually became an illustrator and an art teacher for children. Around 1960 she began to develop her signature op art style which consisted of black and white geometric patterns lines and colors. Op art is short for optical art and has everything to do with optical illusions. Lines colors and patterns play an important role in op art by placing these design elements next to each other. It plays a trick on our eyes and we can see the illusion of movement form and even different colors through optical mixing. Currently Bridget Riley is still living and working at the age of 89. She splits her time between london and France.
