Dear Language Assistant:

Today we want to give you the warmest welcome to our institution. On this path we will accompany and guide you so that you can have a human and professional experience where there will be mutual knowledge of cultures, languages, and customs. Today we want to share with you the main features of our school.

It is one of the best bilingual primary and secondary school for girls in the country.

The Saint Candor school is projected towards 2025, as an Institution strengthened in human-Christian values, with international C1 English certification, 12th grade in the United States and the United Kingdom, immersions abroad, knowledge in French, development of artistic skills, and Committed to training leaders who respond to the challenges of the 21st century.

Activity: In groups, the students must create and design a mind map about endangered species in Colombia with recycle materials, (newspaper and magazine pictures and letters) then, they must socialize it to the class using the vocabulary and proper use of language.

Bilingual program

Within the PlC (school's language project), Saint Candor manages the bilingual program focused on the British Columbia's curriculum, which aims to challenge students to communicate in two languages in a critical, creative way, reinforcing personal, cultural and cultivate personal awareness and social responsibility.

Notes:

You are going to start working in Saint Candor School on February, the bilingual coordinator must contact you before your arrival and planning the first week timetable. You are going to be in the institution 12 hours Monday Friday schedule (4 days per week).

-You are a key figure in the ecosystem of our bilingual school.-Primarily conceived. -Contribute to providing cultural insights to teachers and students.

Level: 3rd primary education.

CLIL METHODOLOGY

At Saint Candor School, the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) methodological approach began to be implemented in 2019 as a Soft CLIL (L2 Lower profiency) pilot project in primary, obtaining very positive results. Consequently, in 2021 the use of the bilingual program began based on hard CLIL ( L2 Advanced profiency), which is mainly concerned with the study of subjects such as history or natural sciences in a second language, which in our context the L2 is the English language.

Topic: The endangered species

Objective: Create a mind map about the endangered animals in Colombia.
