Etapas del desarrollo cognitivo de piaget

Etapa sensorio-motora

De 0 a 2 años de edad

De 2 a 7 años de edad

Se divide en dos etapas: - Pensamiento preconceptual y simbólico (2-4 años) Aparece la función simbólica o semiótica (capacidad para representar mentalmente), se manifiesta a través de diversas conductas: - El lenguaje. - Dibujo o imagen gráfica. - El juego simbólico. - La imitación diferida. -Pensamiento intuitivo (4-6/7 años) El niño ya puede establecer conversación continuada y se le pueden proponer experiencias en las que manipule objetos diversos. Este periodo es base intermedia entre el pensamiento preconceptual y el operacional. En este periodo el lenguaje juega un papel importante.

En esta etapa los niños aprenden a través de los sentidos y movimiento. Cuenta con subestadios:- Subestadio 1. (0-1 mes). Los reflejos inantos. - Subestadio 2. (2-4 meses) Las primeras adaptaciones y la reacción circular primaria. - Subestadio 3. (4-8 meses) La reacción cirular secundaria. -Subestadio 4 (8-12 meses). Coordinación de esquemas secundarios adaptados a medios-fines. - Subestadio 5. (12-18 meses). Las reacciones circulares terciarias. -Subestadio 6. (18-24 meses). Invención de nuevas convinaciones de esquemas a partir de sus representaciones.

De 11 años de edad en adelante

De 7 a 11 años de edad

Esta etapa se caracteriza por:- Surge el pensamiento abstracto. - El desarrollo de la metacognición, la capacidad de pensar sobre pensar​. - Se desarrolla la capacidad de resolución de problemas.

Las características más importantes de este periodo son:  Pensamiento reversible.  Abandono del egocentrismo  Desarrollo de la aptitud perceptiva: no percibe solo de forma global  Pensamiento deductivo e inductivo: puede ir de lo general a lo particular (deducción), o de lo particular a lo general (inducción),  Pensamiento real: ya es capaz de distinguir lo real de lo irreal.  Pensamiento capaz de formar clasificaciones y relaciones.  Desarrollo de la memoria:
