Lecture
- Teacher explains how earth contains a variety of plants to provide food, medicine and is an energy source for humans.
- Students will learn the mechanisms behind the making of medicines and bio-fuels as well as the fundamentals of classifying plants by watching the video as a class.
- In class discussion, review of main points and explanation of activity.
- Supply groups of students with various samples of plants and ask them to categorize them by their components and shapes.
- Groups complete a digital assessment to check their understanding.

Reciting and Singing
- Teacher leads the class through the alphabet in a sing along
- Shares how to play with the digital alphabet activities to learn to recognize letters and their sounds.
- In either a 1:1 model or groups of 2 or 3 to one device let students identify different letters and sounds. Assign an activity to each child or group of children
- Small groups will elect one student to tell the class what letter and object they found (or ask for volunteers if 1:1 model)
- Complete an ungraded digital assessment with pictures and sounds.

Discussion
- Teacher talks to children about causes of earthquakes and explains the goals of the game
- Asks children to take a pre-assessment on safety measure during an earthquake
- In either a 1:1 model or small groups have children take turns playing portions of the game as driver and navigator.
- Give the same assessment after the game to see if scores improved
- Have children draw pictures of a scene in the game and discuss the choices they made
