3rd DAY

Theoretical Knowledge about culture + free day with mixed GROUPS

What is culture?

"the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the members of one human group from another.’ This is not a complete definition (...) but it covers what I have been able to measure" (Hofstede 1984: 21)

Crosscultural Check-list

R.A.D.A.R. analysis

Recognize the cultural dimensions.

Analyse the diversity and understand the reasons that cause any difference.

Decide about the reasons that underline differences instead of similarities.

Act based on best opinion that we have after examination of the situation.

Review what happened at the end and adapt the future behaviour and action.

Day 3 Activities

Crosscultural CHECK-LIST

RADAR analysis

Everyone is taught about the RADAR analysis and participate in a colaborative activity for solving fictional intercultural issues. With this practice, the team should have the tools necessary for handling intercultural misunderstantings.

After the theoretical presentations groups of 4 are formed (2 Brazil + 2 Slovakia) and are free to go through the day. At dinner everyone gathers for reflections and to talk about the experience.

Everyone is given the crossscultural check-list. Both parties answer according to their view on the other team's culture and with the experience with them so far.

Content Session: Hall's Theory Workshop: Advertising Culture in Slovakia and Brazil Open Discussion: Intercultural Training Program Recap Team Building: Farewell Dinner Party

BRAZIL

POLYCHRONIC CULTURE

MONOCHRONIC CULTURE

Time: Slovakian professionals place a strong emphasis on linear time, adherence to schedules and prefer to focus on one task at a time. Space: Monochronic cultures value personal space, with a clear distinction between work and personal life. Context: Communication in monochronic cultures is low-context, that means messages are direct, and the context is often explicit in the message.

Time: Brazilian professionals present a relaxed attitude towards time, multiple tasks are handled simultaneously and there is less emphasis on strict punctuality. Space: Polychronic cultures have a more blurred distinction between work and personal life, often allowing for overlapping roles and interactions. Context: Communication is high-context, messages are conveyed through non-verbal cues, and the context is essential for understanding the complete message.

Advertising Culture

INTERESTING advertising campaigns from EACH COUNTRY

The intercultural adjustment is not only inside the office, but also envolves adapting the marketing strategies to the local cultures of Slovakia and Brazil. This workshop aims to start a discussion about consumer behavior, preferences, and cultural nuances that should be considered when developing marketing campaigns.

Program Key Takeaways

Q&A SESSION and open discussion

Firstly, a recap of the insights learned at this Intercultural Training Program, specially about communication, work-life balance, team dynamics, conflict resolution and social norms. Then a comfortable and safe space for participants to offer feedback, pose questions, engage in discussions, and share their perspectives.

Dinner Party

cheers to a successful event!

A celebration of shared experiences and newfound connections, with delicious food and drinks. The lively beats of Slovakian and Brazilian music create an invitation to dance, talk and smile. This farewell dinner is not just a conclusion; it is the beginning of a lasting intercultural partnership.
