To state when something happens During + NOUN Exemple: We listened to the teacher during the French lesson
To talk about two things that are happening at the same time While + SUBJECT + VERB Exemple: While I was watching TV, he knocked at the door
To state how long something happens For + LENGTH OF TIME Exemple: He is going to sleep for two hours

AUXILIARY VERBS: DO / BE / HAVE

DO, BE and HAVE are both stand-alone verbs and auxiliary verbs.

Simple tenses use a form of DO in the interrogative and negative form SIMPLE PRESENT: DO/DOES + subject + base verbale (?) subject + DO/DOES + not + base verbale (X) SIMPLE PAST: DID + subject + base verbale (?) subject + DID + not + base verbale (X)
All perfect tenses use a form of HAVE PRESENT PERFECT: HAVE / HAS + past participle PRESENT PERFECT PROGRESSIVE: HAVE / HAS + BEEN + verbe en -ING
