2. OFFICE BUILDING
ABSTRACT-
This study investigates the transformative impact of incorporating carefully designed transition spaces within office buildings to enhance the overall well-being and productivity of occupants. Traditionally, office environments have been associated with stress, monotony, and sedentary lifestyles, leading to a range of physical and mental health issues among employees. Recognizing the importance of creating conducive work environments, this research proposes the integration of transition spaces as an innovative approach to fostering healing processes within the workplace. Transition spaces are defined as areas strategically positioned between distinct functional zones, such as between workstations, meeting rooms, and communal areas. Drawing inspiration from principles of biophilic design, mindfulness, and sensory engagement, these spaces aim to provide employees with moments of respite, reflection, and relaxation. The incorporation of natural elements, soothing color palettes, comfortable furnishings, and access to natural light serves to create environments that promote mental rejuvenation and emotional well-being. This study employs a mixed-methods research approach, combining qualitative assessments of occupants' experiences with quantitative measurements of stress levels, productivity, and overall job satisfaction. The research findings aim to contribute valuable insights into the psychological and physiological benefits of transition spaces, shedding light on their potential to mitigate workplace stress, enhance creativity, and promote a healthier work-life balance.
