Gene Expression Regulation
Chapter 15: Gene Regulation in Eukaryotes I: General Features of Transcriptional Regulation; Chapter 16: Gene Regulation in Eukaryotes II: Epigenetics
- Chromatin structures that affect gene expression
- Types of regulatory sequences that affect transcription.
- Epigenetics and its consequences in development, from the environment, metabolism, etc
I know it sounds like a mouthful. However, we will see how genes are turned on and off. Because if you think about it, you can't possibly have all genes on (or off!) at the same time. So, how is this done? Chapter 14: Gene Regulation in Bacteria Hello, lac operon. We see you :) You will identify how operons control transcription in bacterial genes. You will also analyze how gene regulation occurs through the process of attenuation.
