Welcome to Zendesk
What is Zendesk?
Zendesk is a customer service platform that we use to chat with young people (YP) π₯οΈ
How we use Zendesk
We do not own the platform and only use a small portion of its functionalities
Eventually, we will build out own coaching platform, but in the meantime, we use Zendesk!
Why Zendesk important?
The experience YP have with a Clayful Coach is the most important aspect of our work.
If you don't know how to properly use Zendesk, that can negatively impact the YP's experience π
Let's reset our password
The first step to getting signed into your Zendesk account
Reset your Zendesk password
Find the email from Zendesk with the subject line "Create a password for Clayful Coaching". The email looks like this π
Open and click the link in the email
Reset your Zendesk password
After clicking the link, you may see an invalid activation error. If this is the case:
Click the "here" hyperlink
Enter the email address that you received the initial Zendesk email from and click Submit
Check your inbox for an email from Zendesk and click on the link in that email to continue creating your account
Reset your Zendesk password
Type in your new password

Click the 'Set password' button
Sign into Zendesk
Sign in with your email and your new password
Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)
Select SMS as your 2FA. Click Next.
Select United States in the 'Select country' dropdown.
Enter your phone number. Click the 'Send passcode' button.

You will receive a passcode via text message This is what it will look like on your phone π
Enter the passcode into the 'Passcode' field.
Click Save. Then click Done.

Now that you set up your 2FA, you'll sign in using it!
Sign in with your email and your password one more time
Verify 2FA
You'll receive another passcode via text message
Enter the passcode into the 'Passcode' field
You can check the 'Don't ask again...' checkbox to skip 2FA for 30 days if you'd like. Click the 'Verify' button.
Zendesk dashboard
If you see your Zendesk dashboard π, you have successfully created your Zendesk account! π You will visit your dashboard at the start of every coaching shift.

Note that if you try to go to the Views tab on the left hand side, you will see a "You don't have access to any views" message. This is expected behavior. π You'll get access to Views after you have completed training.

Bookmark your Zendesk login page
In the future, you will need to log into Zendesk again to access your dashboard.
If you are using a Gmail email address to log into Zendesk:

Setting Password Tips
Hackers often target education technology platforms. We want to do everything we can to protect coach accounts. How You Can Help Have a VERY safe and secure password following these guidelines: βοΈ Donβt choose a password you have used before βοΈ Make it more than 8 characters long βοΈ Avoid secrets or things that are personally meaningful βοΈ Write it down and practice it from some time. Then shred the piece of paper and throw it away

Views
Views is where you'll be able to see all open chats. You'll also be able to do this from your dashboard (you'll learn about this in the upcoming assignments).
