Fearless

Taylor makes a statement(s)

During the Jonas era, Swift was simultaneously going platinum with her newly-released album, titled Fearless. The country-pop album was hailed by critics as offering radio-friendly, emotionally engaging, although somewhat formulaic. Fearless went on to win Album of the Year at both the Country Music Association Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2009, and it won Album of the Year and Best Country Album at the Grammy Awards in 2010.

Fearless songs presumably about Joe Jonas (TEA ALERT):

  • Forever and Always
  • You all Over me (From the Vault)

Taylor Squared

After fiming Valentine's Day, the pair connected and dated for several months in the fall of 2009. Though this objectively adorable relationship has long been over, Taylor x Taylor remain friends, with Lautner making an iconic appearance in the I Can See You music video.

Songs about Taylor Lautner (TEA ALERT):

  • Back to December

Dear John

Thanks for the inspiration, babe.

After collaborating on Mayer's Half of my Heart, he and Swift began dating. Following their relationship, Swift released Speak Now, featuring the ICONIC track, Dear John. In a Rolling Stone cover story, Mayer called the song "cheap songwriting," and "an abuse of talent." Mayer later went on to say that the song had "really humiliated" him.

Key lyrics from Dear John:

  • "Don't you think I was too young to be messed with?"
  • "I'll look back and regret how I ignored when they said 'run as fast as you can.'"
  • "Never impressed by me acing your tests."

WHERE'S THE RED SCARF, JAKE?! There are certain answers we'll never get, but one thing's for sure: October 12, 2012 changed the way Swifties would think of Gyllenhaal forever when Red was released. The album's fifth track, All Too Well, (and later the 10 minute version) has us in an absolute chokehold of heartbreak and sorrow.
